Hamar — is a Buryat word for cedar nuts. Autumn is a cedar cones collecting season in Siberia, it’s a time when hundreds of men go into taiga to pick cones and then sell them. Locals rely on the product a lot: after spending 2-3 months in the forest and selling cones to resellers, Buryat people earn money that helps them to live through the harsh Siberian winter. This photo series tells about a group of Buryat men that went to collect cones for three days.
